10/35 12 - Rounding corners off on bolster swivel plate to allow clearance for tool carriage on lathe           Return to MSR&LHA Home page

The solution of the above dilemma is to cantilever a large boring bar WAY out beyond the leading end of the carriage and whittle off the corners a chip at a time. This is four CLUNKS per revolution, but it will work. Starting with the next plate, the corners will be sawed off before the plate is anywhere near the lathe.
